Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Blue Ox base plate on a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. When it comes to flat towing any vehicle, there's gonna be five main components that are gonna be required. Now you may have a few auxiliary things that you're gonna want to add in, but these are gonna cover at least safely getting your vehicle down the road. And starting on the vehicle side, we have our base plate, and this is gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle and create the structural mounting point for the rest of the components, and that's where our tow bar is gonna hook up to the arms. The tow bar is gonna be the physical connection between the hitch on the RV and the base plate on your towed vehicle. Now going along with it, just like towing a trailer, you're gonna have safety cables and those are gonna attach to the base plate as well as the hitch on the RV. more

Your supplemental braking system, which helps the Jeep to come to a safe and slow stop behind the motor home. Well neighbor, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the etrailer Invisible Base Plate on a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. And there are five required components for flat towing your Jeep and the first one is going to be the base plate. That attaches to the frame in the vehicle and creates a structural mounting point for the rest of your components but also it's the connection point for our tow bar. And the tow bar is simply the connecting point between the base plate and the hitch on the RV, so it's actually what's towing the vehicle. You also have safety cables just as you would a trailer, and that's just in case of an accidental disconnect, it's gonna hold everything together. You also have your braking system breakaway switch, so in case of a unlikely but catastrophic disconnect, it's gonna pull the cable, putting the brakes on the vehicle, bringing it to a slow or stop. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, We're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Demco tabless base plate kit here on a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So a base plate kit is just gonna be one of the many things that we need in order to successfully flat tow our Jeep here. Now what the base plate kit does is this serves as a permanent connection between the motor home and our vehicle. So this actually is going to attach to our tow bar and our tow bar is what connects to the motor home, so it's gonna serve as sort of a quick disconnect point so you can easily detach your motor home from your vehicle when you need to head into town. So this is what our base plate kit looks like when it's installed on the vehicle here and we don't have our tow bar hooked up. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster front base plate on a 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Now, this is what it's gonna look like when it's installed. You can see here there's a spot cut open for where the arms actually can go in, same with the safety chain loop. And the great part it actually comes with a nice bracket that utilizes the factory mounting points under here, and that's gonna allow you to get your breakaway switch and your diode wiring attached. Now it is gonna work with your factory lock guard. It's gonna take a little bit of cutting to obviously make it fit, but if you have the plastic or metal it doesn't matter, you can make it work. more

Hey, everybody. How's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style base plate kit here on our 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So there's two different kinds of Roadmaster base plates available for your vehicle here, the Direct-Connect and then the Crossbar-Style, which is what we have here. So the Crossbar-Style is a great option for you if you wanna use Roadmaster's Rock Guardian, which is a vehicle protector, or if you have a tow bar that mounts on the vehicle when you're not using it. For those particular applications, you will have to use the Crossbar-Style. But you can also use the Crossbar-Style with any other tow bar just so long as you have this quick-connect. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Adapter to Extended D-ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Tow Bars here on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So here's what our adapter looks like. And what this is gonna do is it's gonna allow you to attach a Roadmaster motorhome mounted tow bar. A motor home mounted tow bar is one that installs into the hitch receiver on the motorhome, and it gets stored there while not in use. A couple example of those motor home mounted tow bars is the Falcon 2, which is what we have here, the BlackHawk, the Sterling, and there's several others. And this is gonna allow us to attach to D-ring bumper mounts welded onto our off-road Jeep bumpers. more

We're going to be showing you how to install the D-ring adapters for a roadmaster tow bar. D-ring adapters are going to be designed for bumpers like this; off-road bumpers. One thing to keep in mind is if you have an off-road bumper with D-rings on it, you need to contact the manufacturer make sure that the bumper is capable of towing. Because not all of them that have D-rings are capable of flat towing the vehicle behind our motor home, or being used to flat tow the vehicle. more

Hi, there Jeep owners stay in your 2017 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install a Curt's base plate. And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed you will be able to see the entire cross tube and base plate underneath the bumper, But I actually liked the way it looks. It kind of adds an aggressive look to the front of your Jeep. It makes it like you're doing something special with this one. On each end that you're going to have your attachment point for your tabs, where you'll connect your tow bar, as well as the location for your safety cables to attach to, sounds like some of the other manufacturers they provide a minor location for your wiring and your breakaway switch for your braking system. more

This is going to be the main attachment point from our tow bar and our RV to our vehicle. Our main components are going to be our base plate, our tow bar, our safety chains, our supplemental braking system, and our smart diode wiring.So our base plate kit is going to come in a nice black powder coat finish. This is going to resist rust and corrosion very well over time. Our kit is also going to come with a nice bracket that's finished in the same black powder coat finish, and we can mount our wiring and our breakaway switch to that.One of my personal favorite features of this base plate kit is how nice it looks under the front of our Jeep. more

Hi there, Wrangler owners. Today on your 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmasters Base Plate Kit. And this is what our baseplate is going to look like when it's installed. Now, we did do some custom cutting on our under shield here to hide the base plate a little bit better than what the instructions would have you do. We used a 2.25-inch hole saw for our base plate attachment to the tow bar, and we just cut around our safety chain connections and then used a drill bit to drill for our electrical wiring coming through. For our breakaway switch, again, we just cut a little square around it. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Crossbar Style Base Plate Kit with removable arms.Here's what our base plate's gonna look like once we have it installed. This is gonna give us a really solid attachment point to hook our tow bar up to, so we can flat tow our Jeep safely down the road.I do wanna mention that the accessories we have mounted up here are not included with the kit. Here we have our breakaway switch for our braking system, our airline fitting for our braking system, and then finally our electrical plug. But our base plate is gonna come with a bracket to mount your breakaway switch for your supplemental braking system, as well as two prongs here so you can mount your electrical connector.What I really like about this base plate is the fact that we can actually remove the arms when we're not towing our Jeep. We come to the pull ring here, we can pull it out, we'll twist the arm, and then it'll come out and have a lot cleaner look.Now, if you look, we can see that we're gonna have this crossbeam that's gonna sit right below our bumper, and that's gonna provide a lot of support for our base plate. It's gonna be mounted directly to the frame, but this crossbar here is gonna help reduce the amount of stress that's put on our front suspension.And then whenever we do wanna tow and hook up, we can simply take our arm, we'll put it in, we're gonna press in until that ring comes out, and we can rotate it till it locks into place.Our Roadmaster base plate is gonna work with all quick-disconnects, as well as all Roadmaster tow bars. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to be installing Blue Ox Baseplate Kit, Part Number BX1126.The main components you will need to complete your flat tow setup are a baseplate, tow bars, wiring, and braking system. This baseplate is going to allow you to hook up your vehicle to the back of your RV and pull it down the road. It's compatible with any tow bars from Blue Ox and it will work with Roadmaster tow bars with an adapter. It has a location on each end to mount your safety chains so you can connect those up for your safety. Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be installing Blue Ox's baseplate kit, part number BX1126. This baseplate's going to allow you to hook up your vehicle to tow bars and pull it behind your RV. It's a custom fit design that's going to look nice on it and tuck up underneath, so you won't see any of the mounting hardware. Additionally, it's going to provide a mounting location for your six pole connector, so you can get that necessary lighting and potentially breaking system installed on your vehicle easily.It has removable attachments for your tow bar, so when you're not using it, you can simply pull them out and that way you don't have to worry about bumping your knee against it when walking by and it will help it look a little bit nicer as well. On the ends of the tow bar is a location to hook up your safety chains. This adapter will work with Blue Ox brand tow bars and can also be adapted to work with Roadmaster tow bars using part number RM-031 or RM-031-5. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Adapter Brackets Installation - 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we'll be installing a Blue Ox base plate adapter brackets for rugged ridge XHD bumpers, part number BX88301. Here's what our base plate looks like installed. The only thing that we're adding to the vehicle itself are these brackets here for our safety cables that are included with our tow bar to hook up to. We remove our D ring on our after market bumper for our pin that will secure our tow bar to the vehicle. The majority of this kit is installed on your tow bar. Here's what it looks like with our safety cables already attached. It gives us a nice place to hook up to in case we we're to be uncoupled from our RV somehow. more

Roadmaster MX Base Plate Kit Installation - 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon edition, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Roadmaster MX Base Plate Kit with removable arms, part number 1444-3. Here's what the base plate is going to look like once it's installed on our vehicle. As you can see, it comes out right underneath our front bumper which is going to give us great, easy access in order to use it. This base plate is going to be nice and easy to use because it's very accessible, and you've got your safety chain connection point right up over here. Then you've got your receiver which your removable arm will slide into. This base plate comes with a wiring bracket welded to it, so it's going to make it nice and easy to have a place to mount your wiring between your vehicle and your motor-home. Installing the arms is very easy. more

Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Installation - 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on our 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we'll be installing a Blue Ox Base Plate Kit with removable arms. Part number BX1126. Here's what our base plate looks like once it's installed. As you can see, it hangs right below the bumper, and looks as though it was factory installed. Here in the center is a mounting point for a wiring harness connection. We have two loops on either side of the base plate to attach our safety cables to. These points are where our removable arms go to, so we can attach our tow bars to it. We'll insert it horizontally and twist it, and it will lock into place. more
